Terms of use
Last updated 30 October 2026
The short version. Inky Clips is free to use; free exports carry a small inkyclips.com watermark, and a paid plan removes it. Plans renew automatically until you cancel, which you can do anytime in the editor. What you make is yours. Only edit videos and music you have the right to use. Your files stay in your browser, so keep backups.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and SIA Blinkovio, registration number 40203302386, Atmodas iela 6-8, Aizpute, Latvia (“we”, “us”), the operator of Inky Clips at inkyclips.com (the “service”). By using the service you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
2. The service
Inky Clips is a video editor that runs in your web browser. It adds animated handwritten text and automatic captions to your videos and exports them as MP4 files. Editing, captioning and exporting happen on your own device.
We may add, change or remove features. Results depend on your device and browser; auto-captions in particular need a recent browser, enough memory, and a one-time download of a large speech model.
3. Your account
You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 16, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission if you are younger than the age at which you can agree to online services yourself in your country. Keep your Google account secure; you are responsible for what happens through your sign-in. You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the privacy policy).
4. Free plan and paid plans
- Free plan. Every feature, with unlimited exports. Videos exported on the free plan carry a small inkyclips.com watermark with our logo. Subtitle files and transcripts never do. You may publish watermarked videos as you like, but don’t remove, cover or alter the watermark.
- Paid plans. A monthly plan (€7.99 a month) or a yearly plan (€79.90 a year) removes the watermark from your exports. The current prices are on the pricing page. Prices are in euros and include VAT or sales tax where it applies; Stripe works out the tax for your country at checkout.
- Who sells the plan. Plans are sold through Link, Stripe’s Managed Payments service: Stripe (through Link) is the reseller and merchant of record for your purchase. It takes the payment, charges and pays any VAT or sales tax for your country, and issues your receipts and invoices, under the Sold through Link terms. We provide the service itself and remain responsible for it under these terms. You pay at the start of each billing period.
- Renewal and cancellation. A plan renews automatically for the same period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the editor (account menu, Subscription). Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and we don’t refund the rest of a period, except as described below or where the law requires it.
- Price changes. We may change prices for future periods. We’ll tell you by email at least 30 days before a change applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it. If it still hasn’t gone through after 7 days, your account returns to the free plan until it is paid.
Your right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)
If you are a consumer, you can withdraw from a paid plan within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. Email support@blinkovio.com from the address you sign in with, saying that you are withdrawing from your plan. Because the plan starts right away at your request, you get back what you paid minus an amount in proportion to the days you had the plan before you withdrew. The refund is made through Stripe within 14 days, to the same payment method. The right of withdrawal applies to your first purchase of a plan, not to later renewals. If Stripe’s buyer terms give you more, they apply too.
5. Your content
- You own it. Videos, text and the exports you create belong to you (or to whoever holds the rights to the material you used). We claim no rights to them, and since they never reach our servers, we don’t see them.
- You need the rights. Only use videos, music, images and other material you own or are allowed to use. You are responsible for your content and for how you publish it, including platform rules and the rights of people who appear in it.
- Keep backups. Projects are saved only in your browser’s storage. Clearing site data, switching browsers or devices, private browsing, or your browser freeing up space can delete them, and we cannot recover them.
- Check captions. Automatic captions are produced by a speech-recognition model and can contain mistakes. Review them before publishing.
6. Fonts and other material we provide
The fonts in Inky Clips are published by their authors under open licences, mainly the SIL Open Font License 1.1, or are free to use with attribution (the Hershey fonts). You may use the text you create with them in your videos, including commercially; the licences cover the font software, not your videos. The full notices are in our font licences file. The sample clip in the editor is courtesy of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (public domain); NASA’s media guidelines apply if you publish it.
The Inky Clips name, logo, website and software are ours. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the service itself, or present it as your own.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t use Inky Clips to:
- make or spread content that is illegal, infringes others’ rights, or harasses, threatens or deceives people;
- create sexual content involving minors, or intimate content of anyone without their consent;
- attack, overload, probe or scrape the service, or get around its security or rate limits;
- use automated means to create accounts or access the service in bulk;
- get around the watermark or the plan checks, for example by changing how the editor works in your browser.
8. No warranty
The service is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and correct, but we don’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or suit a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including the legal guarantee of conformity where it applies.
9. Liability
We are fully liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever mandatory law does not allow liability to be limited. Otherwise we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, lost profits, or loss of content stored in your browser, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 100 if that is more. If you use the service for business purposes, you agree that you are not acting as a consumer for that use.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Inky Clips whenever you like; to stop paying, cancel your plan as described in section 4. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk; where reasonable, we’ll tell you first and explain why. We may also shut the service down, giving at least 30 days’ notice on the site and refunding the unused part of any paid period. Because your projects live in your browser, they stay with you either way.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. For material changes we’ll give signed-in users notice in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim there. Otherwise, disputes go to the courts of the Republic of Latvia. Please contact us first; most things can be sorted out by email. Consumers in Latvia can also turn to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC, www.ptac.gov.lv).
