EMS Tech font
EMS Tech is based on Architects Daughter, a font modelled on the neat block capitals and print lowercase that architects and draughtsmen use on plans. Letters are upright and a little wide, with a casual hand-drawn line.

About EMS Tech
What it looks like
It sits halfway between handwriting and a technical font: friendly, but tidy.
On video
Use it for DIY and maker videos, sketch-style explainers, floor plans and product breakdowns. It looks right next to arrows, circles and other hand-drawn marks.
For plotters, engraving and cutting machines
Plots nicely for labels in a workshop, notebook covers and anything that should look hand-lettered but clean. It includes Western European accented letters.
Every character in EMS Tech
Each letter below is drawn from the single pen line stored in EMSTech.svg, exactly as a plotter would draw it.

Where it comes from
EMS Tech is one of the EMS single-line fonts drawn by Sheldon B. Michaels, each traced from an open-source typeface (this one from Architects Daughter by Kimberly Geswein). Windell H. Oskay of Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories converted them to SVG fonts for Inkscape's Hershey Text extension, which is where many plotter users first meet them.
Licence and download
EMS Tech is free under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Free to use, embed and share, including in commercial videos, products and plotted or engraved work. You can't sell the font file on its own, and changed versions have to stay under the same licence.
EMS Tech by Sheldon B. Michaels, SVG font conversion by Windell H. Oskay. Licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
An SVG font. Load it in Inkscape's Hershey Text extension (Extensions › Text › Hershey Text) to set text as single pen lines for a plotter, laser or engraver.
